Guiding Pedological Principle

The Vital Role of the Parent

We concur with the Scriptural mandate set forth in Deuteronomy 6:6-9:
These words, which I am commanding you today, shall be on your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your sons and shall talk of them when you sit in your house and when you walk by the way and when you lie down and when you rise up. You shall bind them as a sign on your hand and they shall be as frontals on your forehead. You shall write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates.
The collaborative education model is ordained in Deuteronomy. In Chapter 5, Moses passed the ten Commandments to the Israelites from God. This was a culmination of an emphasis that Moses had placed on Israel to follow God’s laws. In Chapter 6, Moses then set forth an education plan for training children.

After ordaining that parents were commissioned to educate their children with at least a portion of that education occurring in the home environment, Moses passed on God’s promise to bless their children and the generations to come. Although parents may delegate a portion of their children’s education, they always retain control over the process of biblical discipleship and they are always accountable for the end result. This is where the collaborative model of education arises. It is a biblical model of education because not only are the parents Christians, the school teachers that the parents collaborate with are Christians!

RCCS’s Role In Our Partnership

Consequently, in a collaborative model, we take seriously the delegated responsibility placed upon us by parents—to provide students with a Bible-based, Christ-centered education that will prepare them not only for college but will also promote a healthy relationship with Jesus Christ.

This will be our focus in selecting the curriculum, implementing our model, and communicating our personal testimonies of God’s work in our lives.

Working together, it is our hope to glorify the Lord, encourage the parent, edify the student, and influence the world for Christ. To that end, let us follow God’s word with joy!

Fun Fact:

The logo for Roever Classical Christian school was developed to encompass the unique philosophy of our school. The laurel around the circle represents “Classical” while the cross represents Christian.

In addition, the starry sky represents S.T.E.M. and Classical with a focus on Astronomy and Christianity as it depicts what experts believe the sky looked like as the wise men had found the King of the Jews by following his star. (Matthew 2:1-12)
